## Target Training Heart Rate

Problem 3- Calculate the target heart rate given the training goal and resting heart rate.

The average male has a resting heart rate of about 70 bpm while the average female has a resting heart rate of about 75 bpm. Using this information, what is the approximate target heart rate for a 25 year old male and female training at 70%?

 Recall that the maximum heart rate (HRmax) is computed as, HRmax = 220 − A, the reserve heart rate (HRrsv) is computed as, HRrsv = HRmax− HRrest, and the target heart rate (HRtarg) is computed as, HRtarg = p · HRrsv + HRrest.

 Male: 158 bpm, Female: 159 bpm B. Male: 125 bpm, Female: 120 bpm C. Male: 163 bpm, Female: 154 bpm D. Male: 213 bpm, Female: 204 bpm E. Male: 173 bpm, Female: 174 bpm
