Bragg's Equation

Problem 4- Describe how the graph of the function defined by Bragg's equation relates to the graph of a nontransformed sine function.

Bragg's equation can be written as,

2dsinθ - nλ = 0.

If g (θ) = 2dsinθ - nλ, how does the graph of g (θ) relate to the graph of f (θ) = sinθ?

A.

The graph of g (θ) can be generated by shifting the graph of f (θ) up 2d units and by shifting the graph of f (θ) right nλ units.

B.

The graph of g (θ) can be generated by shifting the graph of f (θ) up 2d units and by shifting the graph of f (θ) left nλ units.

C.

The graph of g (θ) can be generated by horizontally stretching/shrinking the graph of f (θ) by a factor 2d units and by shifting the graph of f (θ) down nλ units.

D.

The graph of g (θ) can be generated by vertically stretching/shrinking the graph of f (θ) by a factor 2d units and by shifting the graph of f (θ) down nλ units.
