Math Awareness Week 1998
What do the departments of Toxicology, Optical Sciences, Arid Land Studies, Tree Ring Research, and Biology all have in common? This year's "Imaging and Mathematics" theme brought together a wide variety of disciplines, all of which are featured in this comprehensive collection of activities and online exhibits on the application of digital imaging.

Math Awareness Week 1997
A series of lectures and presentations showcasing student projects and collaborations with local research facilities. Highlights included the launching of a new Bee Poplation computer simulation, and a KGB mystery movie featuring a UA alumnus.

Math Movies
This series of videos, sponsored by the Pi Mu Epsilon mathematics honorary, deals with interesting mathematical topics and is designed to pique the interest of students as well as to provide a diversion from the usual class lecture and study routine.

Research Experiences for Undergrads
Designed to provide students with first-hand experience in current research projects, this NSF-funded program has been operating since 1993.

SWRIMS
The Southwest Regional Institute in the Mathematical Sciences is committed to bridging the gap between teaching and research, and is currently sponsoring projects at Northern Arizona University, the University of Arizona, and Utah State University.

Undergraduate Mathematics Colloquium
Six hour-long sessions designed to enrich the experience of undergraduate mathematics majors and to expose them to mathematical ideas they might not encounter in regular coursework.

Current Research
This site from the Department of Computer Science showcases over twenty different research projects covering topics from Java compilers to DNA sequencing programs.
